This week the focus of our blogs has been on upcycling projects in various rooms of the house. To round it off, today’s post is going to be a little more general. Here are some of the ways in which you can introduce upcycling into your home.

Wallpaper for your stairs

When you’ve finished wallpapering a room, what do you do with the leftover scraps? Rather than throw them away, use them to make a truly unique staircase. If you can, use a different pattern for each stair for a quick way to add pizazz to your staircase. (Pictured above)

Kitchen Knife Block

Buying a brand new knife block can be expensive but you can save a lot of money by simply filling a box with wooden skewers – the skewers will hold your knives in place and if you choose a large box, you’ll have plenty of room for all of your knives.

Cheap Drawer Dividers

Your sock drawer can quickly become messy and overloaded. Instead, use spare sheets of cardboard to make these simple drawer dividers.

Smart Table and Chairs

Over time your kitchen table and chairs can start to look worn. Buying a new set can be costly and really, it’s money that doesn’t need to be spent. Instead, smarten them up again with a lick of paint and they’ll look as good as new.

We hope you’ve enjoyed our upcycling week – what’s your favourite tip?
