Living in the city tends to mean you have to make sacrifices in terms of garden space. In fact, you may not even be afforded an outdoors garden at all – but there’s no need to worry, as there is nothing stopping you from growing plants indoors.

Here at Choiceful, we love to bring you gardening tips and advice on how to make the most of your garden. So if you have a small patch of greenery outside your city abode or you’re forced to keep any greenery indoors, here’s how to take care of it.

The first thing to remember is to choose plants to reflect the size of your space. That means if you’re growing plants indoors, you should try to choose small potted plants that won’t grow too much over time. Consider the colours in your home or garden. Plants are a great way to introduce colour and brighten up your space.

Once you’ve chosen your indoor plants, you’ll have to consider how best to grow them. You should bear in mind the quality of light for your garden. If your city garden is largely in the shade, or you don’t have much natural light inside your house, you should consider buying a special plant light, to ensure that your plants grow properly and healthily.

Potting soil and garden soil are not the same. To keep small plants healthy, you should combine the two types of soil. And as ever, don’t forget to water your plants regularly.

If you’re considering growing plants in your city garden or inside your house, make the most of the useful planting essentials available from choiceful.com. We have mini watering cans and spray bottles, perfect for quenching your potted plant’s thirst. We also stock potting mix compost, which is ideal for use on indoor plants, pot plants and hanging baskets, and will make sure your plants grow healthily. And if you’re in need of a larger plant pot once your potted plants start to grow a bit more, we also have a range of recycled glass pots for the job.
