Carthusia is the oldest perfume house in the world. Originally formulated by the Carthusian monks in the twelfth century on the island of Capri. Today the tradition is perpetuated, the limited production methods are the same ones used centuries ago. All fragrances are made from natural raw materials and the finished Carthusia product is hand wrapped. With the name of one of the mermaids who tried to bewitch Ulysses, Carthusia Ligea is a feminine, warm powdery fragrance of opoponax with a fresh aroma of sweet mandarin. Tangerine, rose and opoponax (sweet mryhh).
