It is use in the garden which will improve the aeration of growing media such as compost or soil and increase retention of moisture and nutrients. Vermiculite also possesses cation exchange properties which enabling it to hold and make available to growing plants ammonium, potassium, calcium and magnesium. Vitax vermiculite can also be used on its own, as a soil-less medium for sowing seeds or can be used in a mix of equal parts by volume with seed and potting compost.
